Francis Upritchard at Nottingham Contemporary

Skinny, strange people, some made specifically for Nottingham, being based on the legend of Robin Hood.   The looped video playing in the reading room featuring the artist talking about her work was very worthwhile.   Had a memorable chat with one of the invigilators about the work and the merits of super sculpey – think I’d like to try it out …

Looking at Taxidermy: historical and contemporary

I’m thinking about my dissertation on the resurgence of taxidermy by contemporary artists and places I visited relating to it during the summer.  Attingham Park was inspiring with their exhibition House of Beasts unleashed organised by Meadow Arts.

Also, Cragside House is certainly the place to visit for anyone looking for a full Victorian interior!

Update …

Unfortunately, due to internal disagreements regarding the use of the space at the University, we just found out there is still no decision re the commission.

Whatever the outcome, we certainly enjoyed the experience.
